Want to Make Money Online? But What’s Your Passion?

What's Your Passion? You want to make money with Affiliate Marketing.

So, you join some affiliate programs and start submitting free ads to newsletters and free advertising classifieds sites. You’re going to make BIG money now — right?

Nope! Sorry! Just sending out a few ads is not going to do it. Not if you want to be a real success.

You must first determine your passion. I mean other than making the money! What is your hobby? What do you know how to do REALLY well? What is your job? Everyone has something that is their own special talent. Find yours.

You probably have more than one thing that you are very interested in and do well. See if you can find five (ten if you’re really ambitious). Write them down in a list. Remember, you are going to be spending a lot of time working with this subject. Make sure you enjoy it!

Go down each item on your list. Start writing a rough outline of everything you know about the topic. It doesn’t have to be elaborate. This is just to give you an idea of how much information is available for a given subject.

How to make money blogging about your passion

Try mind mapping. Write down the main subject of your idea. Draw a circle around it. Now, start thinking of sub-categories that are related to your main category. Draw a line from your main category and end it with a circle. Put the sub-category title inside this circle. Find as many sub-categories (and sub-sub-categories) as you can.

Watch this video for more ideas on how to create great mind maps, from the man who invented mind mapping, Tony Buzan

Go through each of your interests with this procedure. Choose the one that you know the most about and that you can write about comfortably.
What if you “think” you don’t know enough about your topic? Then, do some research. Read books and magazines. Do some searches on the Internet. Who knows? You might find an area, a niche, that is just waiting for you to fill it with useful information.

There’s a lot more to affiliate marketing, of course. But the first step is to find your passion. Your “passion” doesn’t have to be making money on the Internet. It can be cooking, sewing, billiards, or whatever. In fact, it’s better if you find a niche that isn’t in the online marketing arena because that’s what nearly everyone else is doing.

Make your topic unique. Make it yours. And make it your passion. It will pay you well.

Do you have a subject that you’re passionate about? Why not start a blog? Explore your passion and share it with the world. Who knows? You may make a great success of it. If you want to share your passion with our udience, please let us know in the comments below.

5 Healthy Diet Tips to Beat Anxiety

5 Healthy Diet Tips to Beat Anxiety

Relieving Tension and Anxiety

Studies have shown that having a healthy diet may reduce signs and symptoms of anxiety. One can relieve tension and manage stress better by what a person does and does not eat. This article focuses on changing the diet plans of a person so he or she can live an anxiety-free life.

Everyone experiences anxiety. In fact, being unable to do so can be a sign of a serious psychological problem. In our hazardous world, anxiety is a strategy the body uses to help the mind recognize danger and keep well out of its way. As with most mental illnesses, it’s not the presence of anxiety alone that creates problems. It is more about how severe it is and how much it gets in one’s way of life or quality of living.

Most people feel anxious at some time in their lives.

Fight or Flight

However, only about five per cent of people experience severe anxiety and rarely seek professional help. Anxiety is a mixture of physical and mental symptoms. They are part of what psychologists call the “fight or flight” response.

a healthy diet to beat anxiety

When the body is under threat it automatically prepares either to defend itself or run.

Anxiety is a normal reaction to stress.

Anxiety helps one deal with a tense situation in the office, study harder for an exam, or remain focused on an important speech. In general, it helps one cope with the tasks and demands of everyday life. But when anxiety becomes an excessive, irrational dread of everyday situations, it can become a disabling disorder.

Fortunately, effective treatments for anxiety disorders are available, and research is yielding new and improved therapies that can help most people with anxiety disorders lead productive and fulfilling lives. However, studies have shown that having a healthy diet may reduce signs and symptoms of anxiety.

Consider some diet changes to beat anxiety

Although food can’t cure an anxiety disorder, consider some diet changes and that would benefit a severely anxious person:

Avoid or limit caffeine intake as much as possible. Caffeine is present in many soft drinks, not just in tea and coffee and it can set up its own vicious cycle. It can speed up heart rate and disrupt sleep — which later on become prevailing signs of anxiety. Trying to overcome tiredness by drinking more caffeine only makes the long-term problem worse.

Avoid too much alcohol. Similarly, alcohol can worsen the symptoms of anxiety, and disrupt sleep. Many people reach for a drink to calm their nerves, but the consequences of overindulgence can outweigh the benefits of initial relaxation. For some, a hangover, insomnia, and dehydration make one feel worse than before one had a drink. In excessive amounts, alcohol can actually act as a depressant, making the drinker feel sluggish or more anxious. Alcohol, like a simple sugar, is rapidly absorbed by the body. Like other sugars, alcohol increases hypoglycemia symptoms. It also causes mood swings.

5 healthy diet tips to beat anxiety

Eat complex carbohydrates, also known as carbs. During anxious times, turn to comforting carbs. These foods act as a mild tranquilizer by increasing the amount of serotonin, a calming neurotransmitter in the brain. Complex carbs such as potatoes, wholewheat bread, and pasta take longer to digest than sugary simple carbs like white bread. That way, one can stay fuller longer and blood sugar is likely to stay steady, eliminating stress and anxiety.

• Be sure to drink eight or more glasses of water a day. Dehydration can lead to fatigue, headaches and stress. One should be well-hydrated and drinking lots of water a day can decrease symptoms of anxiety.

Take multivitamins and mineral supplements. B vitamins, whose role is to unlock the energy in food, are crucial. Vitamin B-6 helps manufacture serotonin in the brain. Choose a daily supplement that supplies 100 per cent of the daily recommendation of all vitamins and minerals.

Although tension and daily stresses are unavoidable, one can relieve tension and manage stress and anxiety better by watching out for what one eats and what one does not eat. Remember that a healthy body and a healthy mind are often one and the same thing.

What diet tips do you have to keep your anxiety under control? Let me know in the comments below.

10 Ways to Manage Work Stress for Women

Ways to Handle Work Stress For Women

Women are More Prone to Workplace Stress

Women are more prone to workplace stress because of the many roles they play in life: as career woman, wife, mother, daughter, and friend. Women work way beyond the 9-5 shift, often having to rush home to cook dinner, help the kids with homework, and prepare the next day’s office attire for the hubby. The stress and anxiety caused by endless tasks and impossible deadlines in a high-speed, high-tech world has made women’s lives a living web of complexity.

How can Women Cope With Stress and Anxiety?

The question is: How can women cope with stress and anxiety? The first step is to dissect the problem and understand how these psychological and emotional conditions make women’s lives more difficult.

Stress is a combination of fatigue, restlessness, depression, over-focusing, and over-all gloominess that is a consequence of overwork and other domestic or personal problems.

The difficulty of trying to balance time between work and the home has caused many women to suffer from stress. Personal or relationship issues like divorce or separation have also been the cause of anxiety panic attacks among women. Women who own and manage their own business are also prone to stress. Their high drive for business success cannot always protect them from times of depression and overwork. Career women, on the other hand, have to confront office politics, gender discrimination, sexual harassment, and the fear of being laid-off.

10 Ways To Handle Work Stress For WomenBut there’s still hope for over-worked, stressed women. Here are some practical ways for women to reduce and manage work-related stress:

10 Ways to Manage Work Stress for Women

1. Put up relaxing scenes – It could be a poster or a small painting with beautiful scenery. You can even download screen savers of beaches, waterfalls, clear lakes and other scenes that help create a serene mood.

2. The To-Do-List – Use Post-Its or other stick-on note pads. Color-code your notes and even put up an “alarm” in your computer to remind you of priority tasks. The key is to know what to do first.

3. Time out – As they say, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” Take some time out to take a breather. Do way from reading emails the mostly junk. Do stimulating activities like sudoku or brainteaser. Reading some inspirational books like Chicken Soup for the Soul.

4. Rearrange your workstation – Add some “homey” look to your workstation… put up photo frames of your family or favorite pet. When ever you feel stressed out just glance at their happy faces or cuteness —and you’ll find yourself smiling back!

5. When a plant isn’t just a plantHaving plants around your workplace is good for stress relief. Studies show that looking at something green like a plant helps soothe your eyes after facing the computer monitor all day or after reading for a long time. Focusing on a green plant will have a soothing effect. Plants also contribute to the atmosphere by absorbing carbon dioxide and contributing fresh oxygen into the air we breathe. Offices devoid of pictures, souvenirs or any other distractions are “the most toxic space” you can put a human into.

6. Exercise – Walking, climbing the stairs, or going out to run helps fight stress. Physical activity help get rid of tension. During a workout, your body releases endorphins which helps your body to relax. Endorphins also act as natural pain killers. There are a lot of exercise videos that you can use ranging from the standard aerobics to yoga, pilates, tae-bo, and a host of other fitness programs.

7. De-clutter – A cluttered workstation with pens, pencils, notepads, tons of papers spread around every inch of your work place adds to your stress. Make your work environment more appealing by organizing your things and throwing away things you no longer need. Get into the habit of having a cleanout at the end of each day, so the next morning you walk in to a serene work space, ready for a productive new day.

8. Set Boundaries – Communicate and assert yourself, make your co-workers know when you are more available for chit chat.

9. Go less in your caffeine intake – caffeine, even though it is popularly known as a stimulant – too much of it adds to stress and could even lead to depression.

10. Eat a good breakfast – Don’ skip meals even if you are indeed in a hurry. Studies show that if you make it a practice to eat breakfast every day, your body gets more of the needed proteins to give you an energy boost to face the working day.

10 Ways To Handle Work Stress For Women

Beat work-related stress without beating yourself up. Learn how to relax.

Sure…we have duties and responsibilities but if you don’t learn to relax—burn out is what you get! Make an effort to relax. Listen to good music. Try not to smoke. Because if you don’t watch out, the results would be hypertension…depression… and a plethora of other ailments that can sidetrack your career and home life.

It’s time to regain a sense of balance if you want to stay alive for a long, long, long time.

Women tend to be more prone to eating than men when in the throes of stress. You need to keep an eye on your diet and make sure you don’t go past the limits that your body can take. Dieting is part of stress management and is routinely observed to keep your health as normal as possible.

Since eating habits tend to be erratic when you are having problems, you need to be careful in what you take in. Stay abreast of your weight and girth to determine if your eating habits are getting out of hand. Also, you need to be more conscious on what foods you take, make sure that these are healthy ones and stay away from fast foods or junk foods.

Start taking in more vegetable and salads with a healthy dose of some extra virgin olive oil instead of burgers and fries. Fruits can be prepared in plenty of ways to satisfy your cravings which is a healthy alternative to junk foods.

The secret to keep a healthy lifestyle during a time of stress is to be more sensitive to your body. Try to be aware of possible signs that will indicate that your body is falling apart. The more you manage your stress, the more healthy your body will be.

Life Advice: Looking Through a Window

Life Advice

Living in today’s metropolitan world of cellular phones, mobile computers and other high-tech gadgets is not just hectic but very impersonal. We make money and then invest our time and effort in making more money.

Does it end?

Not usually because we are never satisfied.

How many times have we convinced ourselves that if only we had some more money, life would be so sweet? But then, after receiving a substantial raise, we realize that it wasn’t enough and that we need more?

What Should You Do?

I have read many books on life such as Robin Sharma’s Monk says this and the monk says that, and they all seem to say that money is not necessary. But it is. Can you do without cash and a lot of it? I know I can’t.

I asked my mother for advice that will help me find my true way in life.

My mother nodded and took me to the window. “What do you see?” she asked me.

Promptly, I answered, “I can see people walking to and fro and a blind man is begging for alms at the left corner.”

Mother nodded and guided me to a big mirror. “Now look and tell me what you see?”

“I can see myself,” I answered.

My mother smiled. “Now you can’t see anyone else. The mirror and the window are both created from the same raw material: glass, but because on one of them they have applied a thin layer of silver, when you look at it all you can see is your own reflection.”

My mother placed her arm on my shoulders. “Compare yourself to those two pieces of glass. Without the silver layer, you saw the other people and felt compassion for them. When you are covered with silver, you see only yourself.”

I looked at her and stared. “I don’t understand.”

Life advice - looking through a window

She continued. “You will become someone only if you have the courage to remove the silver covering over your eyes in order to again see and love others.” She held my hand, hugged me, and sent me on my way.

I have thought of what she said and come to the conclusion that she had a point. Yes. We need money and we should not aim to lead a moneyless existence; it’s pointless and will only cause us and our families many heartbreaks in the future.

Instead, I suggest that we should follow the advice my dear mother gave me. When we approach life through a silver covering, all we are able to see is ourselves. But discard that covering, and you will be able to see and feel everyone else.

Conclusion:

In life, we are allowed to and should be able to look at both kinds of glass, but we should remember that a mirror reflects only us; a window is the door to compassion, health and true wealth. In other words, seek wealth by all means, but don’t let it dissuade you from life, people, children and the poor and needy.

Depression: Flesh and Blood Or Thoughts and Emotions?

Depression - Flesh and Blood or Thoughts and Emotions

There is currently an argument concerning the nature of depression. Some believe it to be a psychological condition, while others perceive the root of the problem as being biochemical. There is still research being conducted, but for now, the answer eludes medical science.

Is depression caused by external factors, or by our own mind and body?

The answer may not be as simple as some would like to believe.

The commonly held view is that depression is caused by negative events or circumstances that result in fear, sadness, apprehension, and worry. External factors such as gloomy weather, the six o’clock news, and even how one views society at large — are also considered major sources of depression.

Another school of thought in this issue about depression is rooted in biology and biochemistry. Going by this theory, depression is supposedly caused by chemical imbalances which, in turn, affect a person’s psychological and emotional equilibrium. The discipline of psychology, however, takes a different tack by claiming that the chemical changes are effects of the psychological condition, not the other way around.

There are reports and studies that show depression as being linked to a variety of chemical changes in the brain. Changes in the brain’s chemical receptors have been mentioned as possible causes of depression. The same has been said of damage to the nerves and biochemical transmitters that do the gritty work of the central nervous system. Serotonin is usually mentioned, though other neural receptors have also been named by a variety of studies into the topic. Noradrenaline and dopamine levels have also been mentioned by some studies as being linked to depression. It is these drugs that most antidepressant medications are designed to target. The basic idea is that low levels of the aforementioned chemicals causes depression, so higher levels should be uplifting. While most cases of depression are treated successfully in this manner, there are still some issues to be resolved. The low levels may be indicative of another problem, rather than being the root of the problem itself.

Depression - Flesh and Blood or Thoughts and Emotions

Psychology may be a major factor in depression, if not the root cause.

Studies show that people who have suffered emotional or psychological trauma are more likely to develop depression later on in life. This is particularly true if the trauma occurred during the person’s formative years, or was caused by a trusted figure in their life. Pessimism can also make it easier for a person to slide into depression, but most do not see it as a major factor. Anxiety disorders may also lead to depression, according to some studies. This stems from the negative self-perception that can be caused by anxiety disorders that cripple a person’s ability to fulfill his perceived duties. These can include social anxiety and performance anxiety, among other types of anxiety disorders. As the negative self-perception sinks in, it begins to alter the person’s view of reality. Eventually, as depression sets in, everything appears bleak and hopeless.

For the time being, it is difficult to be sure whether depression is a mental condition or a biological one. There is ample evidence to show that there are factors on both sides of the argument. However, there is a lack of evidence to point to either side of the coin being the definitive answer. More research into the matter is going to be needed, especially since there are some unanswered questions about depression. For example, the fact that depression seems to manifest frequently in families suggest some sort of genetic connection. Also, if the state of mind does have an effect on depression, then would there be a statistical correlation between nihilism and depression? Clearly, there is still much to be discovered about this condition.

Make Exercise A Family Priority

Make Exercise A Family Priority

With a little planning you can find ways to incorporate workouts into the time you spend with your children.

A mothers’ daily calendar is almost always over-scheduled. Each day usually starts early and ends late. It may include lots of running in circles (at least it can feel that way). But it is probably lacking any real physical activity. With children returning to school, the schedule gets even tighter due to school requirements and events.

It may seem an insurmountable task to get your family into the healthy habit of regular exercise. Yet, with the disturbing recent obesity trends, it’s an extremely important habit to adopt. Studies have indicated that children are 40% less active than they were just 30 years ago. This has negative effects for kids in physical, psychological, and social areas.

So, being an active family needs to become a priority. Fortunately, it’s actually easier than you may think. With a little planning you can find ways to incorporate workouts into the time you spend with your children. Regardless of your children’s age, there’s a way to find time to workout (often even with your kids)! Here are some tips organized by age, which will add to your family time together and help to keep the whole family active!

Age: Infant through pre-school

  • Play a game of keep-away or tag.
  • Occupy them for even 15 minutes with a video or toy while you do some toning exercises like squats and tricep dips.
  • Grab your stroller and go for a brisk walk. Or, buy a jogging stroller for more flexibility. With a jogging stroller you can walk faster, jog or even run at a fast pace. And, for veteran rollerbladers, you can even use the stroller for some skating time. Don’t forget the kid helmets.
  • For younger children, you can use a back carrier to transport them while walking. This can burn even more calories as the extra weight makes it more challenging.
  • Turn on some music and dance together. Toddlers love dancing, especially when their parents join in.
  • Play hopscotch – yes, you will work up a sweat.
  • Push your kid on a swing. And, after every push complete one squat.
  • Use an infant carrier or bike trailer to enjoy a bike ride together.

How to make exercise a family priority

Age: Grade School

  • Try rollerblading or skating together.make exercise a family priority
  • Spend an afternoon at a park with a playground, but don’t spend the whole time relaxing on the sidelines – join in on the fun. Spend some time swinging to help workout your legs. Try making it across the monkey bars – even just once (it’s a great upper body workout and you’ll be amazed that your kid does it with such little ease). Try some pull-ups using a bar on the playset. Do some tricep dips on a nearby park bench.
  • Get a small group together for a kickball or softball game.
  • If your child can ride a bicycle at a moderate pace, jog alongside of them.
  • Involve your kids while you strength train. Let them count your reps out loud for you and/or clock your rest time in-between sets.
  • Try a game of marble pick-up. Set up a circle (or more than one) of marbles. Compete with each other to see who can pick them up quicker following certain rules (e.g. not being able to bend from the waist but instead using a squatting technique to grab them). Adults will get an extra workout if they squat while balancing on just one foot.
  • On rainy days that force you inside, walk or run up and down the stairs. You might even make it a contest to see who can finish 5 complete rounds first.

Age: Teenagers

  • Register for a fun run (or walk) event and spend time together training for the event.
  • Set up an obstacle course in your back yard. Then try such things as quick sprints back and forth between two objects, hopping over a line of sticks, and running zig-zags around a line of cones.
  • Play tennis or basketball together.
  • Consider joining a community volleyball or softball team that includes enthusiasts of all ages.
  • Don’t just sit and cheer your kids at their sporting events. Every few minutes do some walking or jumping jacks or squats.
  • Learn how to do strength training exercises that require partners. There are dozens of options that work both individuals’ bodies. For example, partner squats where two people stand facing each other, grasp each other around their forearms and squat simultaneously as if sitting in a chair.
  • Implement a daily family walk each day before or after dinner.
  • Work together in the yard raking leaves, planting flowers, trimming trees.

make exercise a family priority

Sure, you may have a very full plate but isn’t it time to throw out the “I’m a parent – I don’t have time to workout” excuse. Don’t focus on the frequency or irregularity of your workouts. Take the opportunities for physical activity when they arise. If you implement these above activities for just 30 minutes three times per week, you can easily burn an extra 450 calories or more!

Plus, working out sets a great example for your children that will teach them at an early age how important (and easy) it is to make physical fitness a part of daily life. Exercising with your kids also provides the extra bonus of spending quality time together.

5 Tips For Balancing Work And Home

five-secrets

Most people understand how difficult it can be to balance their work and home lives once they get married and have children. Somehow it seems that work life or home life is always encroaching on the other and causing problems at work, at home, and many times both. However the following five tips are great options to help with balancing work and home.

Make a Schedule

The best thing to do when trying to balance work and home is to make a schedule. Know how much time you have and schedule your work time and your home time. Then, you will know when you need to schedule work and home events. This will make your life significantly easier and you will know which activities fit into which time frame. Just make sure you stick to your schedule.

Share Responsibilities

Many times work and home responsibilities can become overwhelming because one spouse is handling more of the responsibilities than the other. So, learn to share responsibilities at home and each spouse can be responsible for their work. Also, older children should have some home responsibilities as well to help parents balance work and home.

Leave Work at Work

Balancing home and work can be difficult because it is so easy to take work home. If you really want to balance work and home then you will always leave work at work and keep home a sacred place for family and home activities.

Dedicate Weekends to Home Activities

A great way to keep home and work separate is to always focus on home activities during weekends, or at least on days off from work if you happen to work on weekends. When certain days are home days and other days are work days then it makes balancing work and home considerably easier.

Plan

The best way to balance work and home is to always make a plan. There are tons of tips that will help you, but there is nothing like making a plan and then following the plan to really balance work and home. It might be difficult, but if you have it planned out and follow the plan you will be surprised how easy you can find a balance.

My 100 Goals in 100 Days

Looking to my future - 100 goals in 100 days

I promised to keep adding to my 100 goals in 100 days, so this is the place where I’ll list them.

I’ve found it quite difficult to come up with BIG ideas. Maybe I have inadvertently limited myself because of my life so far. I’m pretty realistic about my life – it has been a bit mediocre. Maybe I need to challenge myself more to set bigger goals and reach them. It’s never too late to stop being mediocre.

So here goes:

100 Goals in 100 Days

    1. Set up some really good quality internet sites, with the virtual assistants and infrastructure in place for them to look after themselves and generate my passive income, all the while contributing to making the internet a better place for us all.
    2. Change the positions of furniture and storage in the house to try and make a space for me to do my scrapbooking, my computing AND have a dining table!
    3. Buy a bike and get out every day to explore this wonderful city.
    4. Pay down my mortgage and investment loan so that the rental income pays for the mortgage and I can use the capital growth my properties have achieved
    5. Buy more investment properties and set my children up for their best financial future.
    6. Build two properties where there is now one, and set myself and my family up in their first ever brand new home!
    7. Learn all I can about using real estate as a vehicle to financial freedom. I’ve had a lifelong love of houses, home improvements, architecture and styling – now I need to turn that into a job replacing income.
    8. Travel with my family and friends before I get too old or they don’t want to travel with me! Cruising is my favorite form of travel. Get myself and the kids on at least 2 cruises in the next 3 years.
    9. Start making a career for post retirement by offering Virtual Assistant services to others. I think I’m coming to the realization that I work best when I’m helping others.
    10. Get a massage at least once a month
Get a massage at least once a month

Get a massage at least once a month

    11. Be more frugal. Cut down my spending and teach my sons the importance of saving, not-spending, and investing wisely. I’ve really changed my spending habits in 2017 – I’ve only bought my lunch twice – on 7 January and 19 April. I intend to get through the rest of the year without ever buying a cafe lunch.
    12. Contribute back to society – to charities – to worthwhile causes – to helping others to achieve better things in their lives.  To be philanthropic and generous of myself. That’s not very specific is it. OK, set up a monthly donation to Assistance Dogs, (done) CBM Australia (done), Amnesty International (done), World Vision, sponsor child, RSPCA, Scope Victoria and the Heart Foundation.
    13. Find out how I can help to improve the issues that contribute to so many people being homeless here in my home city. Get involved with the right organisations to help find solutions to homelessness here.
    14. Tackle the biggest issues in my health head on: Get Laser Eye Surgery.
    15. Solve my blood clotting issues.
    16. Sadly, I think it will get to a point where I will have to have Neck Surgery.
    17. Find some Muscle Wastage solutions and Exercise routines. Improve my physical condition with diet, intermittent fasting, exercise and muscle training.
    18. Change my relationship with alcohol.
    19. Use my vacation club to take 4 holidays a year, explore this beautiful country first and then expand my horizons
    20. Visit Las Vegas, Florence, Tasmania, Cornwall, New Zealand, the Suez and Panama Canals, Antarctica, New York, the Maldives…
    21. Gift both my sons $1 a day from Mum for the first 21 years of their lives, including 2.5% interest, which weighs up to a tidy approx. $10k on their 21st birthdays. This sets them up with a great start, and also a great savings ethic.
    22. Stair-climbing every day, starting with 8-16 flights of stairs each time, preferably twice or more per day. Remember I’m still a full-time office worker, so I don’t have a lot of time for exercising while I’m at work.
    23. Climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge
    24. Walk up the Eureka Tower (89 floors)
    25. Do a half marathon
    26. Free myself from my J.O.B so that I have the time and energy to focus on my family and my goals. e.g. R.E.T.I.R.E.  Don’t get me wrong, I love working, but I really don’t want to spend too many more years working for a BOSS.
    27. Buy a bush or sea escape house in a sad condition, and kit it out with everything second hand; Found objects, op-shop finds, home made, re-purposed objects, furniture and storage, including a beautiful garden filled with unusual container gardens, masses of potted flower, trees that the birds have planted and a river. It must have a beach, a creek or a river.
    28. Learn how to identify crystaline rocks, how to cut and polish agate, opals, diamonds, rubies, emerald, sapphires, how to work with gemstones and turn them into beautiful pieces of jewelry.

Go to Italy to immerse myself in the life of Michelangelo

    30. Learn how to use a metal detector and spend a season in the Western Australia desert in an RV, detecting gold and getting back to nature.
    31. Declutter everything! I am so sick of living with all this “stuff” (As FlyLady.net calls it “Something That Undermines Family Fun”).. alot of it could go into that escape house in sad condition.
    32. Sell my investment wine in order to rid myself of credit card and personal debt.
    33. Get the equipment and knowledge to start making my own cheeses! And sell them at the local Farmers Markets
    34. Become a succulent grower and start building up a massive stock to sell at the local Farmers Market
    35. Kit the house out with a fantastic sound system and rekindle my love affair with music
    36. Get my youngest son into lessons for a musical instrument to build a lifelong love of music, entertaining
    37. Learn and do Yoga, Meditation and Mindfulness
    38. Help my big son to find his direction in life
    39. Learn how to make better pinnable images for my blog
    40. Get out in my city taking wonderful photos
    41. Hook up with talented graffiti artists and get my concrete fence changed forever!
    42. Live in a house with lots of natural light
    43. Enjoy my garden like I used to years ago. Propagate plants from cuttings and seeds and fill my garden with colour and texture

set up my garden for my enjoyment

Planning my future life – What will my life be like a year from today

    44. Prepare my blog post calendar a month in advance, EVERY MONTH
    45. Save all my $2.00 and $1.00 coins for the rest of my life. I’ve already started this, and got $1181.00 in the last 11.5 months, without even noticing it.
    46. Firm up my plans for the house I live in – Will I keep it and put an upstairs on, and subdivide to build another?  Or will I demolish and build 2?
    47. Learn how to blow glass and make incredible vases.
    48. Read a book every day – this is something I regret stopping.
    49. Go to Egypt and visit the Pyramids that I was obsessed with for my entire youth.
    50. Learn how to work with wood. I adore naturally shaped polished wood and would love to add quirky pieces to my decor, or even make pieces to sell, like footstools, coffee/occasional tables, shelving, dining tables, kitchen benches – but there must be no straight edges!
    51. Follow my Dad’s example and start living a life of de-cluttering. I’ve acknowledged that de-cluttering is a lifestyle choice and not a “thing you do” from time to time.
    52. Focus on finding my purpose and living intentionally.
    53. …. more than half way….. would I like to become an actor or racecar driver, climb Mount Everest or meet the Queen… yeah, nah.

I will keep coming back here and adding to this list as I firm up my 100 goals.

Building Blocks For A Successful Blog – Get It Right Now!

Building Blocks For a Successful Blog

Building A Successful Blog

If you want to build a successful blog, there are three main things that can certainly help you get started.

Although many people think that building a successful blog is one of the easiest tasks out there, they are wrong. A successful blog takes more than just setting up a blog page to chat about your life.

You need to focus on these three building blocks in order to even have the framework for a successful blog.

Even these three building blocks are not enough however to make your blog successful. Read on to learn exactly what you need to make your blog as successful as possible.

The Look and Feel of your Blog

The first building block for a successful blog is The Look.

The look and feel of your blog

What this means is that your blog should start with an appropriate style. You can begin when you first start your blog. Many blogging software programs will help you out with the style of your blog.

If you are using a blogging program that caters most to beginners, you will see that it will offer different templates for you to choose. There will be something for everyone. You can go through the templates to choose which colors you like best for the layout.

Experiment with the layouts to see which templates look best on the computer screen. You can always go back and change the template later if you want to change the look of your blog.

Make sure that if you are creating your own blog, without using a pre-created template that you make it look as professional as possible. You can even hire a professional to do the job for you if you wish. The more professional your blog looks, the more seriously your readers will take your posts.

The Content You Add To Your Blog

The content of your blog is the second key building block you will need for a successful blog.

While you can choose to create posts that have no direction or purpose, you will find that when you post interesting commentary or short information filled articles that your traffic will increase. Although you may think it is interesting, most readers will not enjoy reading about your day to day activities, unless you make them into humorous stories.

It should also be noted that the more content you have on your site, the more successful your site will be. It is basically a numbers game at this point. The more you post, the more chances you will have the one of your posts will attract the eye of someone searching for a related topic.Creating Content for Your Blog

The Ads That Appear on Your Blog

The third building block is advertising.

Bloggers can make a steady income using advertising on their blogs. The trick is to have a good mixture of ads and content however.

The Ads That Appear on Your BlogIf you fill your blog with ads and have no content for readers, they will be distracted and not visit your site again. A good rule to remember is that you should never have more than two or three ads per blog page. This is an important rule to remember.

You should not overwhelm you readers with ads. You should only present them so that the readers can further explore them if they wish. Don’t use flashing ads or other bold ads that will annoy your readers.

Choosing the right type of advertising program is part of it as well. Look into an easy to use program such as Google Adsense if you want a quick way to get started in the advertising arena.

The Dedication and Effort You Put Into Your Blog

The most important building block of a great blog is dedication.

You must be willing to be dedicated to the blog.

You have to put in the time and energy to get positive results.

Even if you have the other three components, unless you take the time to update your posts each day, you will not be getting optimum results.

Dedication can help a lot.

It can hide the fact that you are a beginner and allow you to create a beautiful and functional blog.

No matter how inexperienced you are, dedication can cover that up.

You can have a great blog as long as you make the time to give your energy to the project.

What Does it Really Take to Make Money Online?

whatdoesitreallytaketomakemoneyonlineHow can you make money online?

Probably the most important step to making money online is the desire to do it.

The internet, contrary to so many of the headlines we see, is not a ‘get rich quick’ scheme.

Strong internet incomes are achieved the same way brick and mortar incomes are achieved—via hard work, long hours, and dedication to making money online. To make money online, you must be willing to work hard, often long hours, study the latest material on marketing and traffic generation, and be willing to stick with it before you start making the big money online.

dollar-213619

Why do people buy online?

In order to make money online, you must develop a basic understanding of why people buy.

The psychological motivations of internet purchases are much the same as offline purchases. People buy things online because they feel the purchase will make them feel younger, sexier, happier, or because it will make them rich or well-liked.

What should I sell to make money online?

Make Money Online – The Lure Of Easy Money

You must find or develop a product that is well-suited to making money online—it must primarily meet the emotional needs of people online—making them feel younger, sexier, happier, rich, or well-liked.

And then there’s marketing

To make money online, you must learn everything you can about marketing, both offline and online. You must understand what makes people buy; you cannot simply cut and paste from templates to get good at online marketing.

Testing and re-testing your online marketing

You must be willing to test everything you do. Many times what you do online is in massive quantities, unlike some offline marketing. You might send out a million emails, or purchase a thousand PPCs, or receive hundreds of visitors a day.

You must be able to identify which types of visitors make you money or you will fail. In many marketing campaigns you run, you will have segments that are profitable and segments that are not.

If you cannot identify which are which, for the purpose of eliminating those that are not profitable and increasing spending in areas that are, you will fail.

What to do with the profits from online marketing?piggy-bank-61672_640

You must be willing to reinvest much of your initial profits back into your business.

When you first begin marketing, you are excited and you are willing to spend untold hours, until the wee hours of the morning, placing inexpensive classified ads and requesting links with directories and other web sites. However, once you have a thousand subscribers, you will be more focused on conversion rates and your web site and have less time for low-cost traffic generation.

You will need to develop a budget for more expensive (and usually higher-quality) traffic. Although it is not always the case that paying more gets you a better lead, it is generally the case that paying less gets you an inferior lead.

Be in it for the long haul

Last but perhaps the most important. You must be willing to stick it out.

The first few months you may not make much money online, but you knew that going in and you are excited about the internet riches about which you dream. After a few months of 80-90 hour weeks, you become tired and can become tempted to quit. If (and only if, note) you have been testing every ad you run and every response you receive, you will be able to start making smarter decisions and become profitable over the next few months. But if you burn out and quit, you lose everything you put in.

2 Essential Tools To Obtain Online Wealth – Opportunity + Marketing

Most People Don't Make Much Money Online

Most people don’t make much money online. And a lot of people go about it the ‘wrong’ way. I’ve talked to countless intelligent, hard-working folks who tried, but gave up after accomplishing very little in their online careers.

But don’t give up too soon.

There are really only two things you need to make money online. Unfortunately, most of us have to try a lot of things and pay a lot of dues before figuring out just what those two things are.

A lot of very successful marketers have worked out exactly how to make money from other people who want to make money online. Sell them something that will help them to make money online.

It’s the simple technique to confound the unsuspecting newbie marketer who has yet to make money or the folk who have tried a few things but are yet to make ‘enough’ money online.

It’s the power of “Shiny Object Syndrome” that entraps many lone-marketers who are seeking a get rich quick scheme. The clever marketers only have to pour a lot of words onto a page in the right format (and there’s a lot of sneaky psychology to the ‘right format’), put that page in front of a lot of people (‘The Warrior Forum’ / ‘JVZoo’ / ‘Clickbank’ to name a few) and make money from others.

That Niche, the “Make Money Online” niche, has a very eager community looking for the next big thing. It’s an easy niche to get started in.

Most fledgling marketers find or create a business opportunity, then try to promote it using various methods. Invariably, even though they may be spending a good chunk of change in their promotion effort, they aren’t promoting nearly enough. There are a LOT of people pushing businesses online. If you want to get noticed and start making sales, you simply HAVE to promote BIG.

Instead of reaching a few hundred here and a few thousand there, you need to promote to MILLIONS, even BILLIONS of people in billions of places.

Ridiculously big?

Do I have to Promote Big

Not at all. Think of major corporations like Pepsi, McDonalds or Toyota. They’ve got their advertising in newspapers, on TV, on race cars, on business signs, on billboards, flyers, in magazines, and hundreds of other places world-wide.

Now that’s promoting big.

To sell big, you’ve got to promote big.

But how does the average person even begin to do marketing on such a large scale without mortgaging their house and winning the lottery?

These days the Internet is coming to the rescue. One count of the number of ad sites is well over one billion. If you can create software to count the sites, you can also create a way to automatically submit ads to all those sites — and that is exactly what some clever developers have made available.

Where do I promote my product?

tree-200795_640

Don’t forget the myriad of websites which allow you to post free content, like:

  • Facebook
  • Pinterest
  • SnapChat
  • Instagram
  • GooglePlus
  • Storify
  • Delicious
  • Tumblr
  • Reddit
  • Scoop.it
  • Bundlr
  • Bagtheweb
  • Bit.ly
  • Clipzine
  • Shareify
  • Flipboard
  • Ezine Articles
  • Commenting on websites in your niche
  • CommentLuv websites
  • Forum comments and signatures
  • the list goes on and on…

Your product, offer, leadpage, article, clickbait or whichever/whatever tool you want to use to market NEEDS to be on all of these sites and more. Every time you write an article for your website, publish something on each of these and many other sites which links users back to your article or blog post or lead page.

Of course, the 2nd requirement for making money online is to choose the right business. Selling the same old items in the same small ways simply won’t bring you more than a trickle of income.

Pick a business that sells the online audience what they really want and need.

I’m reminded of the woman who started selling small items on eBay. She did o.k., but soon found she was one of millions selling the same things. So she switched to selling the packaging all those millions needed to ship their items. Soon she was selling so much packaging she had to rent a warehouse and hire 10 employees just to keep up with demand. She made a LOT of money just by selling something everybody in her crowd wanted and needed.

Keep those two simple points in mind — pick the right business, then promote really big — and you’ll find your online profits quickly reach your expectations.

Walk On The Bright Side To Grow Your Internet Business

ThisWalking is good for you – physically and psychologically. Walking can be great for your Internet business too.

Success on the Internet relies so much on your intuitive understanding and creative insight.

This article explains how walking can develop both these skills and help you see the way ahead, increase your optimism and grow your income from your Internet business.

You regularly hear about the physical benefits of walking. It strengthens your bones, your muscles and your heart and helps to control your weight. It stimulates the systems of your body that are necessary for optimum effectiveness, e.g. your cardiovascular, immune and respiratory systems. Research has shown that walking can reduce the risk of coronary heart disease, Alzheimer’s disease, arthritis, bowel cancer, strokes, diabetes, and high blood pressure.

Walking also has psychological benefits for you. It is mood-enhancing and can help combat depression. It can build stamina, confidence and energy and help to reduce the risk of stress and anxiety.

You will often hear that you should go for a walk to clear your head, empty the clutter from your mind or remove negative thoughts.

Walking, however, can fill your mind – through walking you can create new ideas, gain new insights, and develop new perspectives. It can give you the stimulus and inspiration to move up to another level in your Internet business.

Recent research has shown that physical activity, such as walking, can help ward off Alzheimer’s disease. It has this effect because walking, and other physical activities, create new connections in your brain.

So when you walk you are creating new physical connections in your brain that in turn help you to develop new ideas, insights and understanding. When you walk you start to see connections between things that before seemed quite discrete or separate.

Often the solution to growth of your Internet business and income is right before your eyes, looking you in the face – you just can’t see it!

Walking gives a clarity of vision and insight that puts things in a new light – even things that you have seen everyday.

It is these new connections, intuitive understanding and creative insight that can make a real difference to your Internet business.

For example, I have discovered the following ideas and insights through walking:

• a viral report that I could develop from my own articles and e-books/software for which I had resell rights

• a series of articles around a theme

• a theme, focus and ideas for an e-book that will integrate resources I have acquired and my Internet experience with particular marketing activities

• ways to increase my opt-in mailing list through my blog and existing resources in my download folder

• multiple, reinforcing strategies for generating visitors to my blog

• ways to link my mailing list and my blog postings

• how to use my blog to simultaneously promote multiple programs

• ways to link my blogs to cross–promote and create a blog ring

• how to use ebooks and software from JV Giveaways to create an integrated info product

• how to use my blog and resources I already have to develop a pull marketing vs. a push marketing strategy

• ways to link my professional consulting in e-learning with my Internet business

• the theme for this article which draws on my own experience with walking and ideas expressed in one of my son’s university biology assignments.

You too can gain new understanding, ideas, insights, and perspectives to grow your Internet business. All you need to do is walk and your mind will open up to the multiple intelligences you already possess.

6 Ways To Use PLR Products To Boost Your Blogging

6 ways to use plr products to boost your blogging

Blogging requires you to produce a lot of content on a regular basis.

If you do not have a ghostwriter writing your blog content, then it means you will need to spend a lot of time writing blog posts. This is one of the harsh realities of blogging.

(Private Label Rights) PLR articles and e-books are very popular these days, and they can help you to unleash the power of your blogging.

So, what are private label articles and how are they going to benefit me?

Private label articles are special type of ‘right’ or license which you purchase where you are legally allowed to edit and publish the article as your own. You may even include your own name as the author and your own resource box at the end of each article.

This article outlines how you can use PLR content to make your blogging quick and easy

ONE:  Buy PLR articles or e-books and customize them into blog posts.

All you have to do is to look for PLR content that relates to your niche, break that content into smaller pieces and then, (most importantly) customize it – re-write it in your own voice – to make it unique. Remember that for search engines to index your blog and drive traffic to your blog, you need to have unique information. After you have customized this content, put it into blog posts. This process will make it easy and quick for you to generate content for your website.

Private label articles really can save you time. It can take you a long time to write a decent article. If you wanted to create a content site of only 50 pages it would take you over 100 hours to just write the content. With PLR articles you get access to content instantly. Take that content as inspiration for your next blog post. DO NOT copy and paste it ad-nauseum.

You absolutely must edit PLR articles. When you use private label articles you have the ability to edit the articles and seed it with your own keywords. This is extremely powerful if you want to achieve high rankings in the search engines.

TWO: Buy PLR articles and e-books, customize them into your own e-books and make them available on your blog for free.

Giving away e-books will make your blog very informative and helpful, which may make your visitors want to bookmark your blog and visit it on a regular basis. Certainly, turning PLR into a well written, informative, educational e-book that your readers need to provide an email address to access, will help you to “build your list”. (If you don’t know what that means, you’re going to need to read this post).

By using PLR content and customizing it into your own e-books, you make it easier for yourself to capture prospects to join your email list.

Writing e-books from scratch can cost you a lot of money or take a lot of time. PLR articles and e-books make it easy for you create your own products that you can use on your blog for your visitors to sign up to your email list!

THREE: To attract traffic to your blog, you can compile PLR content into special reports to give away on Social Media or forums, made into Video or Slideshare.

Make them unique and give them away to others. Use them in Facebook ads, in your forum signatures.

Use them to entice a new subscriber to give you their email address in return for a well written report (that contains links to your website and to the articles that promote your money making products (e.g.: affiliate links).

Create a Udemy.com training created with your re-written PLR.

Try sharing an article on Slideshare or Flipboard as a training package.

Use Storify, Delicious, Scoop.it, Clipzine, Bundlr, Pinterest, Instagram and Twitter (to name a few) to promote your training package.

Or you could give them away to your email subscribers as a thank you.

In these reports, you can add links to your blog or to affiliate products you may be selling or to your own products. This can be very powerful because on your blog you will be selling more of your own products or affiliate products.

PLR content can be converted into audio (Podcasts!)  or video formats (Youtube and Vimeo!), or even incorporated into your blog’s email auto-responder series.

Using this approach can help you get visitors back to your website or to your sales page or affiliate links on a regular basis.

fiverr-plr-gigs
FOUR: No outbound links

With private label articles you have no outbound links that you are obligated to include at the end of each published article. No advertising and no distractions for your readers. In other words, the only links that are included in PLR articles are the ones that you have added (i.e. your websites or affiliates which make you money).

FIVE: PLR articles save you money

You can get 200 private label articles for anywhere from only 29.97 (that is less than 15 cents a piece) to even less. Now if that seems a bit expensive to you, then there are many Fiverr.com gigs that will sell you a massive library of PLR articles for only $5.00, to help you populate your blog when you’re out of ideas.

But you must be very careful to edit the PLR thoroughly. Don’t just copy and paste it verbatim. This type of PLR is so cheap because it has been around the Internet for a while, and some if not much of it has been used over and over. You don’t want to disappoint Google by rehashing the same content that’s already been overused.

On Problogger, they recommend that, instead of rewriting each individual PLR article you purchase, you can also use them as a jumping off point to create your own content.  This is how I like to use PLR.  To supplement my own original content. Or to give me ideas for my next post or to give me a jumping off point to help structure my posting schedule.

Interestingly, a commentor on that same page said:

“One author who creates PLR likens it to having a graphic designer do your web design.
If you’re writing a blog that is solely focused on you and your writing abilities, then I could
see how it seems dishonest. But if the aim of your blog is to sell air conditioners and you’re
really good at selling them in person, but not good at writing about them, why not hire
somebody or purchase something to help you out?”

Typically, good PLR authors write content based around profitable niche keywords and information that people in the niche are actively seeking.  You can use their insights and PLR content as research sources, and then write your own blog posts based on the information they provide. PLR gives us bloggers great titles for our next posts, and ideas a-plenty.

SIX: Many PLR articles are written by professionals

If you’re not keen on completely rewriting every PLR article you buy (and I hope you are), then look for the private label articles that are written by professionals and compiled with the latest research and information by writers who do this for a living. Look for PLR that will only be distributed to a small number of users e.g.: 25 – 50 copies only will be sold. When you use and purchase private label articles from the right supplier you can be assured you are buying quality.

These six tips can help you use PLR content to increase the power of your blogging. PLR content that you can quickly customize means that you can generate content for your blog very quickly.  PLR is just another tool – it’s all in how you use it that matters.

The more unique and fresh content you have on your blog, the more traffic you drive to your blog.

5 Movies From Your Childhood To Share With Your Kids

5 movies from your childhood to share with your children
My sister posted a present to her nephew (my son) which arrived the other day. Sure, it was exciting getting a present, but the cover of the DVD didn’t excite him. It was an old fashioned (just OLD) movie. One from Mummy’s childhood.

Brand new movies are great! It’s so much fun standing in line at the theater, breathing in the buttery popcorn smell, giddy with anticipation when a new movie is released.

No such anticipation existed for the watching of Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory. But we had home-made popcorn and snuggled up under a blanket together to watch what I thought would bore my son to tears.willywonka

Then the movie started and my son surprised me! He loved it. He was asking questions and making statements about the characters, giving his own review as the movie panned out. I was very overcome with how much he enjoyed it and by how insightful he was in response to the characters and the plot.

My kids have always loved watching the latest and greatest movies, but now I grin when I hear little D say how Willy Wonka was the best movie ever. Or when I hear him singing the songs I used to sing as a kid – “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” or “Tomorrow”. Hearing his little off-key renditions is the best music to my ears.

Have you introduced your children to the movies you enjoyed when you were younger? Here’s a few I thought of, and these will be screening at our house in the coming weeks.

Swiss Family Robinson (1960)
The Robinson family gets shipwrecked near an island. With hard work and togetherness, they build a majestic tree house. They are faced with many trials – wild animals, weather, and pirates, but their ingenuity carries them through. Great family values!

The Parent Trap (1961)
Twin daughters are raised not knowing about each other, each living with one parent. They unexpectedly bump into each other at summer camp, put two and two together, and work out a scheme to get their parents back together again. This movie is just plain good fun.theparenttrap

Mary Poppins (1964)
Mr. and Mrs. Banks are both so preoccupied with their own interests that their children, Jane and Michael are unhappy. When the magical nanny, Mary Poppins enters their lives, she brings the family closer. Between the penguin scene, the chimney sweep dance, and the magic, your children will be entranced.marypoppings

The Sound of Music (1965)
The hills are alive with the sound of music. Your home will be alive with the sound of music once your kids watch this one.the-sound-of-music-cast

Annie (1982)
Oh, how we love Annie! The music, the dancing, the wealthy Mr. Warbucks, and a happy ending. It doesn’t get much better than that!annie1982

These five movies are a must in every family library. Share the memories, and sing the tunes. It’s OK if you’re a little off-key. I won’t tell.
